Art and Environment


1. SCOPE: The Art and Environment Committee is a volunteer body of lay persons who work to create an environment, to correspond to the appropriate liturgical space, to celebrate the church season. It is involved in selecting art, floral displays, furnishings, and religious displays to enhance the parish's liturgical activities.
2. PURPOSE: The purpose of the Art and Environment Committee is to arrange and maintain suitable, attractive and inspirational decoration of the parish buildings and grounds.
3. FUNCTIONS:
a) Select, display and maintain religious art, liturgical artifacts and furnishings and periodically modify them to conform to the liturgical seasons.
b) Arrange for floral displays in keeping with the themes of the church calendar.
4. ORGANIZATION & MEMBERSHIP: The Committee consists of volunteer members who are interested in insuring that the church is decorated in an attractive, tasteful and appealing manner. Additional members are now being solicited. Members meet on an ad-hoc basis to discuss and plan for routine and special events.
5. COMMITTEE COSTS Materials are paid for from budgeted parish funds and all expenditures are approved, in advance, by the Pastor.
