Fifty-five Plus Goal: To respond and advance the spirtitual and social concerns of the mature adults of the parish by:
1) encouraging the spirit of charity through the development of a mature spiritual life
2) providing an organization through which members will be able to speak and act in matters of common interest
3) encouraging voluntary service to those who have need
4) inviting all mature adults of our parish to join and become active in this endeavor

1. SCOPE: The 55+ Group operates in the area of spiritual growth of senior parishioners (55+ years of age) in a social atmosphere those results on outward acts of charity. 2. PURPOSE: The purpose of the 55+ Group is to provide an atmosphere that will allow senior members of the parish to gather together and share prayer and life experiences. Meetings provide opportunities to develop ideas and plans for projects and activities that generate revenue for both the church and Saint Joseph's School. 3. FUNCTIONS: a) To develop plans and ideas for funds raising projects. b) Conduct/participate fund raising projects such as craft fairs, lunches and diners. c) Provide a congenial atmosphere for seniors to carry out the above functions. 4. ORGANIZATION & MEMBERSHIP: The organization currently consists of thirty (30) members. Officers are: Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. Membership is open to all parishioners of the age of 55 or older. 5. SCHEDULE: The Meetings are conducted in April, May June, September, October and November. 6. COMMITTEE COSTS AND OTHER PARISH GROUP RELATIONSHIPS: The group is self-sufficient and incurs no costs in behalf of the parish. The Group reports its activities to all members of the Parish Assembly Council so that the parish is aware of any proposed events.
