1. SCOPE: The Martha Mary Ministry operates in the area of church household maintenance to insure that the church continues to look beautiful and clean for all those who attend. 2. PURPOSE: The purpose of the Martha Mary Ministry is to maintain and refresh the church building and to insure that all necessary linens and accessories are available for each scheduled Mass. 3. FUNCTIONS: a) Wash windows and clean window shelves. b) Vacuum the sanctuary and narthex. c) Remove spilled wax from carpet areas. d) Remove wax from plastic candle rings and holders. e) Replace diminished candles f) Refill holy water containers. g) Maintain the orderly position of all missals and hymnals in the pew book racks. h) Clean pews and remove any discarded materials and litter i) Remove obsolete materials and maintain the narthex in an orderly manner. j) Remove stains, wash, iron and fold all purificators, corporals, palls, and towels. 4. ORGANIZATION & MEMBERSHIP: The Martha Mary Ministry has two operating groups: cleaning and linens. The Cleaning group has five (5) teams each consisting of five (5) to seven (7) members. The Linen group has eight (8) members who operate individually. Six (6) substitutes are available for both groups. . 5. SCHEDULE: The cleaning group operates each week on either a Friday or Saturday morning as is convenient for each team. The linen group picks up soiled materials each Monday in accordance with a schedule prepared for them by the Ministry Chairperson (coordinator) and returns the material within approximately two (2) days. 6. COMMITTEE COSTS AND OTHER PARISH GROUP RELATIONSHIPS: Cleaning materials and any other necessary materials are purchased by the parish staff from parish funds. There are no other costs associated with the operations of the committee.
